Low potency combo homeopathics limited usefulness in treating Chronic illness

Byron White

Hello Everyone,

BWF Herbals vs Low potency combo homeopathics

I wanted to address a question that comes up frequently, when working with the area of drainage and detoxification in chronic illness, from patients and Practitioners:

I have used  low potency combo homeopathics and want to ask why they often do not help a person that has chronic illness ? What do you recommend I do for drainage/detox  in chronic illness?

I am a  proponent of homeopathy and have found it to be useful in the hands of a very skilled practitioner. I used it in my practice both constitutionally and with the use of specific nosode dilutions on a individual basis. That being said, practitioners often tell me that they have used homeopathic formulas and have found them not to work and asked why and what have I found that works better?

Combo low potency homeopathics are not sufficient for detoxification

It has been my experience that low potency catch all homeopathic remedies are not sufficient for use in chronic illness and detoxification. Early on when German biologic homeopathics were first introduced I tested them and utilized them in my practice and did not find them very useful with detox and chronic illness. And subsequently tested and worked with botanicals and found that they were much more effective.

What is  constitutional Homeopathy?

First a little background,  homeopathy is based on the law of similars, like cures like. Homeopathy, or homeopathic medicine, originated in the late eighteenth century. The name homeopathy is derived from two Greek words that mean “like disease.” The system is based on the idea that substances that produce symptoms of sickness in healthy people will have a curative effect when given in very dilute quantities to sick people who exhibit those same symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are believed to stimulate the body’s own healing processes.

Classical homeopathy usually gives only one homeopathic after taking an extensive case history of the patients symptoms, helping the practitioner match the persons symptoms to the appropriate remedy and potency. The potency is crucial, for you can have the right remedy but the wrong potency and the remedy will often not work and with good reason, which we will address in a moment.

Origins

Homeopathy was created by German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843), who was much disturbed by the medical system of his time, believing that its cures were crude and some of its strong drugs and treatments did more harm than good to patients.
Hahnemann performed experiments on himself using Peruvian bark, which contains quinine, a malaria remedy. He concluded that in a healthy person, quinine creates the same symptoms as malaria, including fevers and chills, which is the reason why it is effective as a remedy. He then began to analyze the remedies available in nature by what he called provings. A Proving  is done by dosing healthy adults with various substances and documenting the results, in terms of the dose needed to produce the symptoms and the length of the dose’s effectiveness.
Hahnemann formulated these principles of homeopathy:
  • Law of Similars (like cures like)
  • Law of the Infinitesimal Dose (The more diluted a remedy is, the more potent it is.)
  • illness is specific to the individual

Homeopathic practitioners believe that illness is specific to an individual. In other words, two people with severe headaches may not receive the same remedies. And there is good reason for this, which will be addressed.

The homeopathic practitioner will ask the patient questions about lifestyle, dietary habits, and personality traits, as well as specific questions about the nature of the headache and when it occurs. This information gathering is called profiling or case-taking.

Later on many homeopathic systems developed that differed from the original classic approach, such as using multiple remedies at the same time or in series at various potencies. Instead of using one potency , and one substance, many substances and many different potencies were used at the same time and in my experience these type of remedies do not work well with chronic illness and often can get in the way of someone recovering their health and even suppress or drive symptoms deeper into the body or confuse the body.

German biologic medicines, Homochords and their limitations:

Some companies developed low potency remedies, that used single potencies for stimulating the curative process and others developed multiple remedy and potency formulas, taking some symptom pictures of the the original constitutional form of homeopathy and putting them together in one formula and others utilized herbs as well, in dilute forms, at low potencies .

Low dose combo homeopathics similar to how drugs are used

Although these formulas are still called homeopathics, they share little in common with the original system. Instead of being based on extensive symptoms of the patient, they were developed to be used much like drugs, you have this, so take this. They were no longer based on each individuals constitution and the various needs of the individual but fell short of the original intention of homeopathy, of addressing each person as an individual and assessing their individual needs emotionally, physically, environmentally, spiritually, ect….

Low dose combo homeopathics fall short of constitutional homeopathy

These ares in bold are the reason that they can fall short as a therapeutic modality for treating the whole person. They are symptom or disease based, instead of based on the where the person is, as a whole person. A mistake that is often made in medicine, treating a condition instead of the person. Classical homeopathy worked because the remedy matched the symptoms of the person and the practitioner gave the person the right potency, based on their knowledge of homeopathy and this particular person at this particular time. Multiple potencies and homeopathics, does not do this. As a result it is very easy to miss the mark…

Low dose homeopathics found in many to not be tolerated

In my testing I found that multiple homeopathics and potencies, especially low potencies would often not help beyond the acute levels and often would not test. They were mostly stimulatory in nature and most of the people I worked with could not tolerate them. These formulas were using potencies from 1x up to 12x as well as combining various homepathics in the same formula.

Illness and restoring a persons health are  a complex set of issues that need to be worked with in their totality rather than in a limited basis as do low potency homeopathic combo remedies. In my experience if low dose homeopathics are used, they are best utilized in single potency to be able to work with specific levels or layers, systems, based on what is happening with the person.

BWF Herbals were created to work with the whole body health and restoration

When the BWFs were created they were designed to work with all the layers of the body, so there would be no possible over stimulation like low dose homeopathics can create. In this way, working with the whole body, in cooperation with restoration of health, would provide the greatest lasting restoration of health.

The BWF detox formulas were designed with these principles in mind and clinically tested and utilized with thousands of patients and found to be the best way to help the body to detox at all layers progressively without interfering with body functioning.
